Interim flood relief programme undertaken concluded at Lakhimpur & Dhemaji district

In the wake of floods in many areas of Assam, Women Development Centre an NGO working in Lakhimpur & Dhemaji distributed flood relief aids in two districts namely Lakhimpur & Dhemaji.  Program started from 5th September 2020 and concluded on 24th September 2020. The following items to 1500 hundred families out of which 350 in North Lakhimpur & 1150 in Dhemaji district.  Details items distributed were Rice 16000 Kgs, Dal 1600 kgs, 2400 kgs potatoes, 1600 kgs onion, 800 ltrs of Mustard oils, salt 800 kgs, surf 800 kgs, bleaching powder 400 kgs, Galvanized sheets 60 bundles,  Tarpoline 60 pieces, bucket with Mug 320 pieces, Phenyl 320 ltr,  Solar Lamps 320 pieces & medicines with medical camps to 362 individuals. The programs was supported by Sneha Charitable Trust India in collaboration with North East Diocesan Social Forum Society (NEDSFS) & Women Development Centre, Guwahati (WDC)   Cash transfer Rs. 1140000/- (3800 per family total 300 families) Wash kits to 500 families with Support from Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFORD) in association with Caritas India & WDC. Ms. Bhagyawati Bhuyan the Project Director WDC took the leadership with her team during the whole process. Dr.  Varghese Velickakam the Executive Director (NEDSES) was present in Lakhimpur diostrict during distribution & Mr. Thansha Sabastian the Assistant Manager, Caritas India represented in Dhemaji during the whole process.
